Don't Brag To Others About Your Amazing Prepping and Your Huge Stash of Goods

Don't brag about your stash of goods to other people
Some people love to talk about themselves and what they have accomplished. If your are a prepper, your pride and joy is probably your well-stocked bunker and you really want to talk about it to people you know - outside of your immediate family.

Well - sometimes, it's best to keep some things to yourself.

If you are a prepper, silence is safety. One of the most common mistakes people make is bragging and posting detailed photos about their supplies online, in casual conversations, or even to friends who may not be trustworthy.

Right now, everyone can go to the store or make an appointment to see their doctor. During these times, it might seem like a harmless conversation to talk about the progress you have made  - so far - to make sure your family is ready when things are not so good.

But in a crisis, people remember who said they had enough food to last for a whole year, their barrels of fuel, their hoard of medical supplies. Not to mention the cases of beer, just waiting to be popped open.

Suddenly, you are no longer a friend or uncle Joe, you become the target of everyone in desperate need.

Your master key to long-term security is operational secrecy - also known as OPSEC.

👿 Don’t post photos of your stash on social media

👿 Don’t tell people you are 'stocked with enough of everything'.

To remain safe when the spit hits the fan, keep your prepping your secret, don't even tell your  neighbors. If you just can't keep your mouth shut, talk about the need to be self-sufficient for the coming storm - don't show off your own readiness.

Teach your family to do the same, especially the children. They can unknowingly reveal way too much to friends or even strangers. When times get desperate, most people will do anything for survival and they may come knocking, begging, or ready to take what they know you have.

Your best defense is complete discretion. Be friendly, be helpful—but don’t be obvious. Let your supplies serve you and your family. Don't turn them into the focus of a hungry mob.
