Build a Well-Stocked First Aid Kit With All of the Essentials

keep a well-stocked first aid kit for emergencies
You've waited all week and finally you are out in your backyard, on a beautiful sunny day, with your grill filled with all the meat and vegetables a family of four can eat.

Life is beautiful! With upbeat music playing in the background, you turn to speak to your neighbor and you accidentally knock over the glass you were drinking from. when the liquid hit the small flames, a whooshing flame is suddenly in your hair. Five seconds later, the fire is intense and damaging and you are in more pain than you've felt, ever.

You don't have time to go to the store to get a burn salve and you need treatment - now.

An emergency often comes in the blink of an eye. The injury - whether it’s a minor abrasion that risks infection or a major wound  - needs an immediate response.

That’s why a well-stocked first aid kit should be a major part of your prepping supplies.

There are small, pre-stocked kits that have some of the essential items. These kits can be kept in various places, that are regularly used by the family.

Places to keep a small First Aid kit;

  • near the pool
  • in your garage
  • in the backyard
  • in your vehicle(s)
  • in the kitchen
  • in the bedroom
  • in the bathroom

You may not have the time or ability to to into another room and fish-out the First Aid kit, so it's best to have supplies close by and ready for use.

If you are prepping for a major crisis or disaster, you will need to build a well-stocked kit that yo customize with all of the essentials items:

  • bandages in multiple sizes
  • gauze
  • antiseptic wipes
  • alcohol
  • tweezers
  • gloves
  • tape
  • scissors
  • wound irrigation tools
  • burn cream
  • antibiotic ointments
  • antihistamines.
Painkillers

  • ibuprofen
  • acetaminophen
  • anti-diarrhea medication
  • electrolyte tablets or drink mix

Include a medical trauma section in your kit, with;

pressure dressings

blood clotting agents (like QuikClot)

a tourniquet

chest seals for severe emergencies

✅ Don't forget personal items;

  • prescription meds
  • allergy treatments
  • allergy medication or an EpiPen, if needed.

Organize your kit by categories for quick access and store it/them in a waterproof bag. In a situation where there are no hospitals or doctors available, your first aid kit is your emergency room and you have to be the doctor.

Take time to know what each item does and how and when to use it.

A well stocked emergency First Aid kit isn’t just a box of supplies, it ca be your peace of mind and a life saver.
